The Netherlands, that European bastion of permissiveness and liberalism, a country that has legalised everything from marijuana to prostitution has signaled that it is not woolly-headed about national security after all.
The Dutch government has banned Qazi Hussain Ahmed, leader of Pakistan’s Jamaat-i-Islami and champion of jehad, from traveling to The Hague to speak at a forum organised by a local Muslim group.
The question remains whether the Dutch government would have gone ahead and banned Hussain Ahmed if not for some lobbying by its Jewish citizens.
Update: Thanks to Schengen, Europe closes its doors to the Qazi.
