Taking Farooqi alive would have raised disturbing questions
Evidence is now emerging that the Pakistani security forces could have taken Farooqi alive – not only was he unarmed when he was gunned down, he was lying injured for half-an-hour before security forces approached him. Kautilya got it right when he commented that unlike A Q Khan, Farooqi did not have the benefit of the status of a national hero and hence would have ended up in the hands of American investigators.
