And not just for inventing the Peshawari naan
Last year, it was the name of General Musharraf that made the rounds in Pakistan, but the Nobel Peace Committee was not impressed.
This year, the entire city of Peshawar is putting up an application. Led by Rahimullah Yusufzai, a veteran journalist, and the “Peshawar Bachao Tehrik” (Save Peshawar Movement), the city wants to be recognised for its role in comforting and absorbing the millions of Afghan refugees that came its way during the anti-Soviet jihad in the 1980s.
Will the Norwegians be impressed this time round?
