  1. Just compare the media coverage of the two incidents, and you will get a fair idea of how much attention either case will get, from the authorities. Deccan Herald deemed it fit that a man from Karnataka who fought/died for honesty has to be on the 4th page. To put it perspective, the death of a mountaineer(from Karnataka) was front page news – for 3 days.

  2. Prasanna,

I noticed it too. In fact, I checked DH to see if they had more details than were available on the Express, only to notice they didn’t care about the local boy.

  3. Every Indian politician should be forced to watch this new movie.

“A gripping suspense thriller set in the aftermath of the massacre of 11 Israeli athletes at the 1972 Munich Olympics. This dramatic exploration inspired by true events follows a secret Israeli squad assigned to track down and kill the 11 Palestinians suspected to have planned the Munich attack-and the personal toll this mission of revenge takes on the team and the man who led it.”

and the first assignment should be Air India bombing. We know who the
killers are and they are sitting pretty in Canada.

  4. Well, Nitin, DH has lately been given to going the ToI way – cant fathom why. And local news or local’s news doesn’t seem all that worthy to them anymore.

  5. This is a sentimental one for me, as Manju was a year senior at IIM Lucknow and a friend of mine. Now that all 7 accused have been arrested, I just hope they are given the strongest possible punishment.
The initial indications though, do not look positive with the local SP reportedly saying that Monu Mittal (the main accused) came from a good, respectable family and only bad company seems to have led him astray. It is like the prosecution giving a clean chit to the main accused even before the hearing has begun.
