All within the party

It certainly is Communist-Communist Bhai Bhai

They hyperventilated when President Bush visited India, and they still do at the mention of the word America. They intervened in Nepal, resulting in a situation where radical Left wing insurgents are a heartbeat away from assuming the reins of power.

And they are now in Beijing, assuring their party counterparts from China that ‘India would not be part of any US-led global strategy for the containment of China’. These are heady days for India’s Communist party leaders. For they certainly are going places.

Now there is certainly nothing wrong in politicians and parliamentarians visiting foreign countries and making statements that may even appear to be foreign policy commitments. Caveat emptor prevails, and host governments generally treat such pronouncements with the appropriate quantities of salt.

Bully for the Commies, all the same. And bully for China—how nice it is to have someone to bat for you right in the corridors of power in New Delhi. But what an abomination for the rest of us.

  1. What else can you expect from a party which still finds it hard to accept the India – China war happened? Did you know that Comrade VS ( current Chief Minister of Kerala and Politburo member of CPM ) was cautioned because he participated in a blood donation camp organised for the Indian Army in Tvm at that time?

  2. It is a reflection of the sad state of Indian polity that communists of all persuasions are either in the corridors of power or are going about causing mayhem with little resistance (Naxalites, Maoists etc.). It is an utter failure on the part of the BJP-Shiv Sena combine that they have been unable to educate the masses of the perfidy of communists. Why don’t they talk about the various and continuing betrayals instead of disrupting silly Valentine’s Day celebrations and harassing innocent young people? Just goes to show intellectualy bankrupt political parties are, and how utterly clueless and corrupt the rank and file are. In any other democracy, the communists would have been wiped out in election after election, they should have been every opponent party’s dream.

  3. Nepal seems to be a lost cause now. No wonder the comrades are on a high.

Anyhow, there needs to be a concerted effort to expose these lying traitors. I’m willing to join any such effort (admittedly, I haven’t done anything of the sort yet).
