Pakistan’s Supreme Court allows Gen Musharraf to contest elections in uniform

Sometimes they sanctify their decisions with grand sounding principles of constitutional jurisprudence. At other times they don’t. Pakistan’s Supreme Court has just decided that the public interest is better served by not confronting the military dictator.

  1. People appear to be reading too much into this judgment. All it does is *allow* him to be a candidate in the election. It does not necessarily permit him to be a President while being the Chief of Army
