‘Perfection’ is certainly not a prerequisite, and reflecting on past (and maybe even ongoing) violence that the civilized world has Nelsoned doesnt help prevent a bloodbath. I just thought it would add depth and perspective.

Another example: I dont have the numbers, but it may be a reasonable assumption to make that ~80% of all Pakistani weapons / weapons systems are from the US? When I read about Ghauri-from-China, I kind of think about this too, in the background. This certainly doesnt help in getting Ghauri to NOT point at Indian targets but changes the picture slightly in ways I dont fully perceive myself.

What people do in their own countries can at best be condemmed, but there is nothing much we can really do using the normal protocols.

Such a side note is not only beside the point but also pointless. See my post on John 8:7. So the ‘civilised world’ has been selling arms to worse thugs around the world. So what? Does that in any way help stall a potential bloodbath in Zimbabwe?

Very good post. I would probably have liked to add just a side note that several major powers in the ‘civilized world’ have sold arms at least as destructive and probably in greater quantity to despots of comparable thuggishness around the world for a fairly long time.
