Vote!

The necessity of voting

The manifestos are unappealing. The rhetoric is worse. The candidates are not to your liking. Don’t let this hold you back from going out there and voting.

Voting is a necessary step to change things. So go out and vote.

  1. Good point.

Short of a runoffs system that decides one winner with a 51+% majority, the prospect of fragmented verdicts and hung parliaments is also a major putoff for voter enthu.

Would be nice to describe the coming polls as what they really are – the largest democratic exercise of power n the history of humankind.

Nevertheless, enthu or not, we gotta do what we gotta do! Onwards to the polls we go…

Would a 90% turnout change things better than a 70% turnout? What is the basis to saying ‘voting is a necessary step to change things’?

If all readers of this blog post vote, what exactly is the change that it will bring?

A crucial piece is missing. A vote is first an appraisal of the current government’s performance in power.
