The controversial Mr Blackwill

What do you call a good brain with a difficult personality?

Dan Drezner reports on Robert Blackwill’s exit from the United States’ National Security Council, surrounded again, by controversy.

Blackwill’s term as US ambassador to India endeared himself to Indians, and naturally, infuriated the Pakistani government, who found itself sandwiched between two diplomatic rottweilers — Zalmay Khalilzad in Kabul and Robert Blackwill in New Delhi.

John Burgess who worked under Blackwill in India points out that Blackwill was a difficult person to get along with, but nevertheless a good guy.

But in The Acorn’s list of members of the Bush administration who need to be retired, Colin Powell comes out tops.

Powell’s gone too. Slate says Finally! Powell Movement.
