Pakistan releases Taliban mentor (2)

and promotes some jihadi minions after their capture

Yesterday’s question has been answered.

“Security agencies interrogated Maulana Fazlur Rehman Khalil thoroughly but failed to prove that he sent militants to Afghanistan,” sources said. [Dawn]

Perhaps they did’nt ask people like 17-year old Mohammed Sohail to testify.

To bury news of Khalil’s release, Pakistan has announced that it has captured some al-Qaeda militants ahead of a planned attack. They appear to be violent thugs of the criminal kind who at one time may have provided ancillary services to some al-Qaeda minions. But hey, they’ll do for the purpose of creating a nice headline.
